According to the latest data from China's General Administration of Customs, China-ASEAN trade totaled RMB 3.02 trillion in the first five months of 2025, up 9.1% year-on-year. ASEAN remains China’s largest trading partner, with exports from China to ASEAN growing 13.5% and imports increasing by 2.3%.
Biomass energy cooperation is booming, as ASEAN countries possess rich raw material resources—such as palm shells, rice husks, and forestry residues—while Chinese companies excel in advanced technologies and engineering.
