A new Canadian–ASEAN study highlights Southeast Asia’s potential to lead the world in Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) production — leveraging abundant agricultural waste and forward-looking policy frameworks.
- Feedstocks from seven ASEAN countries (Cambodia, Indonesia, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam) were assessed for SAF potential
- SAF can reduce aviation-related carbon emissions by up to 80% over its lifecycle
- ASEAN could exceed regional SAF demand and unlock a strong export opportunity
- The initiative emphasizes gender inclusion, economic growth, and climate action

รายงานความร่วมมือระหว่างแคนาดา–อาเซียนล่าสุดเผยว่า เอเชียตะวันออกเฉียงใต้มีศักยภาพที่จะเป็นผู้นำของโลกด้านการผลิต SAF (Sustainable Aviation Fuel) ด้วยจุดแข็งด้านวัสดุเหลือใช้ทางการเกษตร และนโยบายส่งเสริมพลังงานสะอาด
- มีการประเมินศักยภาพวัตถุดิบจาก 7 ประเทศ ได้แก่ กัมพูชา อินโดนีเซีย สปป.ลาว มาเลเซีย ฟิลิปปินส์ ไทย และเวียดนาม
- SAF สามารถลดการปล่อยก๊าซเรือนกระจกจากภาคการบินได้สูงถึง 80% ตลอดวัฏจักรการผลิต
- อาเซียนมีศักยภาพในการผลิตเกินความต้องการภายในภูมิภาค และสามารถขยายสู่ตลาดส่งออก
- ให้ความสำคัญกับความเสมอภาคทางเพศ การพัฒนาเศรษฐกิจ และการแก้ปัญหาการเปลี่ยนแปลงสภาพภูมิอากาศ
